I get them more frequently than recommended, but you know what is the best thing about bad days? That this is the worse it can get today, tomorrow is coming and it will all end. The most comforting feeling is to know that my Heavenly Father is holding everything in place. That even though I just see a piece of the puzzle, He sees the whole picture.
So here are some instructions for a bad day:
1. Smile. For no reason at all, in your bed, smile.
2. Say "Good Morning" to anyone, even the dog.
3. Declare that today will be a good day. Even though the shampoo has gone in your eye.
4. Look at the sunrise or the sunset
5. Compliment someone or something. Compliment the snow or trees. For they are creations of our God too and deserve a nice compliment as well.
6. Tell someone they are beautiful. Everyone needs to hear it once in a while
(Hey. Michy, you are so beautiful!!)
7. Sing to your favourite song! I suggest singing "Let it go" or "Do you wanna build a snowman" from the Frozen soundtrack
8. If your singing you might as well watch your favourite musical movie! (Again I recommend Frozen)
9. Have some delicious pizza. Life is too short to worry about calories on your bad day
10. Cry it out, tears cleanse the soul. I love crying, it's the best
11. Hug! Hug anyone! It is the best way to cure loneliness. You get embrace someone who God knitted to perfection, it's an honor to hug people! (HUGS NOT DRUGS)
12. Buy/adopt a puppy or any kind of animal that makes you smile! (I did this last winter and my Labradoodle Bella has been one of the best things that's ever happen to me)
13. Have some Starbucks (it makes you feel posh)
14. Buy yourself or a friend a cupcake!
15. Tell someone you love them. We can be so selfish with our love sometimes. As if it could ever run out. Silly humans. (Dylan, Michy, Naty, Vale, Karen, Grace, Sandra, Lorraine, Mami, Papi and everyone else reading this; I love you all!!!!)
16. Who ever made your day bad, tell them. The worst thing you can do is hold it in. It makes you bitter when you hold your feelings inside.
17. Take pictures. Grab your phone or your camera and take pictures of the beauty of this earth. And if you are brave enough take a picture of someone for the sole reason that you think they are beautiful, go for it! It will make their day.
18. Buy someone a coffee.
19. Do something for someone who can never pay you back.
20. Laugh until you cry.
21. Let the person in back of you go first
22. Read a book (The Bible and "The Book of Awesome", are pretty awesome for those bad days!)
23. Stand still for a few minutes and realize you are alive. You are actually alive and you have a future.
24. Breath in and breath out
25. Go outside and just look around
26. Say "Happy Birthday." A baby was just born when you said that, and you were one of the first to say happy birthday, awesome!
27. Say please and thank you
28. Open the door for someone
29. Bake!
30. Work out! (I heard people really enjoy this, I wouldn't know I'm too busy doing number 9 ;) lol )
31. Go on an adventure, visit a place in your city you've never been too but always wanted to go.
32. Grab the fluffiest of blankets and take a nap
33. Go to Faith it. Its an amazing website that will restore your hope in humanity and make you shed some tears.
34. Remember the good times, and understand that the best is yet to come
35. Start something you never in your dreams thought you could start (You know exactly what it is)
36. Buy some flowers. They are so beautiful and those colours will make you happy
and lastly
37. Let go. I mean really, let it go.
Life is too beautiful, too grand and too awesome to worry about the petty things in life. Be brave and be silly. Have yourselves a good day :)
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:25-33"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" - 1 Peter 5:7
This was inspired by a poem called "Instructions for a bad day" by Shane Koyczan. It is hands down the most loveliest poems I have ever heard (besides the ones my lovely boyfriend writes). Here is the video and also the link to the video for our mobile users. Have a listen it will change your day.
"Remember the times you could have pressed quit- But you pressed continue"
